ARCHIVE: Piano Recital (October 2019)

Originally published 10/16/2019

I would like to thank pianist Nancy Weems for her beautiful playing in Mozart's E-flat piano quartet at the Moores School of Music last night. The venue had to be changed from Dudley Recital Hall to the orchestra rehearsal room. Even with the less than ideal acoustics and lighting, Nancy brought a wide range of color and nuance to the Mozart. Her tonal control and sensitivity was particularly evident in the second movement. I greatly appreciated her recognition and attention to harmonic and character changes which brought the piece to life. She had me smiling throughout. Thanks.
